Darth Vader is easily one of the greatest villains, not just in the Star Wars universe, but of all time. One of the main reasons is that Darth Vader is sympathetic as well as detestable. Sure, Vader will slaughter a town of innocent civilians like it's nothing, but the eternal torment he suffers still makes fans feel for him. And now, after taking a closer look at Darth Vader's story, it's easy to see things from his point of view.
