A major annual Harry Potter event has been cancelled. J.K. Rowling's first Harry Potter novel was published in 1997, but the cinematic franchise started four years later with 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. There went on to be eight movies in the main Harry Potter franchise, along with a Fantastic Beasts spinoff series, a stage play, and more.
