Children in Japan are probably told by their parents that if they're caught copying in exams, Nintendo's lawyers will come for them. By now, we all know that Nintendo is extremely possessive about its IPs, and will unleash legal hell upon you if you use them in any way it doesn't deem fit. ROMs, unauthorized ports, or even unauthorized use of its games for charity events are met with an iron fist.
