Jawsis probably one of the most blatantly ripped-off movies in history, but one Spielberg clone actually turned out to be a cult classic nearly 50 years later. It's hard to overstate the importance of Jaws, and it not only established Steven Spielberg as a master of popular cinema, but essentially invented the summer blockbuster.
