Brandon Sanderson's revelation that hisMistborn movie was back to "square one" came as a disappointing blow in 2024, as screen adaptations of the author's work are incredibly coveted. Sanderson shared the news in his annual State of the Sanderson blog post, revealing that Mistborn had not gotten a production deal, despite a lot of thought and work going into the adaptation.
