Folk is one of the oldest genres of music in the modern era, and in the last 70 years, its sound has evolved quite a bit, from Pete Seeger and Harry Belafonte in the '50s and '60s, Nick Drake's Pink Moon and Joni Mitchell's Blue in the '70s, to Bon Iver and Mumford and Sons into the 21st century.
