The director of the Jason Voorhees movie Sweet Revenge has explained why it isn't an origin story. Sweet Revenge is a short film that continues the Friday the 13th franchise that was released in August 2025. Sweet Revenge focuses on a young woman whose trip to Crystal Lake with her friends is ruined by betrayal and Jason Voorhees attacking them.
