Live-action adaptations of anime have long been the source of frustration for fans, which is why a recently unearthed pitch for a Hollywood adaptation of Yu-Gi-Oh!is catching the attention of so many. Though the prospective film was one that only existed in the pages of a popular fan magazine, it highlights just how much fandom has changed in two decades.
