Gaming has been getting more expensive, but it can't always be helped. Take the Nintendo Switch 2's $450 price, for example. It's painful, but the math checks out. A $400 price would have roughly matched the $300 price of the Switch when it launched in 2017 (yes, inflation really has been that bad). Add a bump to deal with the impact of tariffs, and $450 checks out.
