Anime’s rise in the global box office has been steady for years, but Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle just proved it has crossed into blockbuster territory. The film stunned Hollywood by opening to an estimated $70 million in the United States, setting new records for both anime and international cinema. Few expected an R-rated animated film to pull numbers this big.
