Harry Potter has become a controversial subject in recent years, but that's precisely why HBO's upcoming TV remake is so important. Author J.K. Rowling has been fighting against the inclusion of transgender women in female spaces, and this has caused significant hurt and uproar among her trans/allied fanbase. For some, Rowling's views have felt like a betrayal.
