Marvelfans know it: the most powerful X-Menheroes are cursed. Great responsibility might come with great power, but for Marvel's strongest mutants, it also increases their chances of being killed off. Marvel has a track record of making its mutants so powerful it doesn't know what to do with them, and then putting them on the shelf.
