Star Wars is returning to theaters in 2026, but it may not be as big of a hit as other upcoming sci-fi films. Since 2019, Star Wars has only released new projects on Disney+. While The Rise of Skywalker made over $1 billion at the box office, Lucasfilm has struggled to develop a new film from start to finish, despite announcing several future movies.
