Japanese pop culture's presence has long predated that of anime and manga creeping into mainstream films, with famous cases like Akira Kurosawa's 1958 film, The Hidden Fortress, famously influencing Star Wars. That being said, it's still impressive to see critically acclaimed gems, blockbusters, or general fan-favorites impressively infused not just with anime influence as usual, but manga too.
