Set 27 years prior to the events of Andy Muschietti's It and 54 years before its sequel, It: Welcome to Derry covers a previous cycle of Pennywise the Dancing Clown terrorizing Derry, Maine. In addition to acting as a prequel to It, the series will also serve as a pseudo prequel to The Shining, another Stephen King title.
