Fringe was the ultimate episodic sci-fi show of the 20th century, but it has been largely forgotten due to the success of similar sci-fi shows like The X-Files. The show began as a relatively simple blend of the sci-fi and police procedural genres, with FBI agents examining unexplained phenomena for their Fringe Division, but Fringe evolved into something much better.
