The arrival of Tron: Ares in 2025 was supposed to reignite one of Disney’s most visually iconic franchises. Instead, it landed with an underwhelming thud. Few viewers have championed it as a meaningful evolution of the Grid, and the film’s divisive reception made its long-delayed release feel even more anticlimactic. I found myself thinking more about the franchise’s missed opportunities than its future.
