Award show nominations will always cause a stir as personal favorites are excluded from the top honors, but The Game Awards has egregiously snubbed Blue Prince in the coveted Game of the Year category. I don't necessarily disagree with TGA's 2025 nominees; the six selected titles are, by all accounts, exceptional, but I feel that Blue Prince's cultural moment deserves official recognition, and being snubbed for a GOTY nomination shows that the game's true genius is being overlooked.
