Toy Story 5 Is Finally Abandoning A 30-Year Opening Scene Tradition

Despite Pixar's strong record with the franchise, Toy Story 5 risks taking Woody and Buzz's journey one film too far. Toy Story 3 ending with the gang's original owner, Andy, starting adulthood and handing down his toys to Bonnie felt like the perfect closing note, but Toy Story 4 continued the adventure regardless. Just as Toy Story 3 did with Andy, it now appears that Toy Story 5 will explore what happens when Bonnie starts becoming less interested in playtime.
