The Fantastic Four: First Steps did not have the team leave their universe, but after rewatching the movie, I believe it did explain how the heroes will find themselves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's main universe. The Fantastic Four are confirmed to be key to both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. The team's role in the upcoming MCU movies is intriguing.
