Hi! I’m Guy Howie, a Senior TV Features Writer at ScreenRant. Since long before my time here, I’ve been nurturing an obsession with Christmas TV shows. Some of my earliest childhood memories are sitting by the fireplace, watching Disney’s small-screen holiday classics. Growing up in Britain, special holiday-themed episodes of our favorite shows were the TV event of each year, especially in the case of sitcom institutions like Only Fools and Gavin & Stacey. There’s no greater sitcom institution than The Simpsons, and no greater Christmas TV episode than the show’s very first outing on the small screen, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”.
