When Netflix first entered the original content arena in the early 2010s, it fundamentally altered the way that TV was made, released, and consumed, even with some of its offerings being more divisive than others. With entire seasons of series dropping at once, viewers were encouraged to binge-watch their favorite shows, creating a new sense of long-form storytelling.
