Mike Flanagan emphasizes that The Dark Tower movie won't "be the final word" for the Stephen King adaptation. It was announced in 2022 that Flanagan is developing his own Dark Tower series in the aftermath of the 2017 film, which has a 16% critical score and 44% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
