Netflix has become infamous for cancelling genre shows just as they start to find their footing, but few decisions feel as baffling as the quiet end of Shadow and Bone. This wasn’t a struggling series limping along on hype alone. It was a visually rich, character-driven fantasy that had already proven it could attract a loyal audience.
