Southland has found new life on Netflix at the perfect time. Starring Shawn Hatosy as detective/police officer Sammy Bryant, the show first aired on NBC for a single season in 2009 before moving to TNT for four more seasons from 2010 to 2013. Like FX's The Shield, which aired from 2002 to 2008, Southland offers a raw and authentic look at the lives of LAPD patrol officers and detectives.
