In the 1980s, a handful of classic rock bands pulled off one of the rarest feats in music: releasing truly no-skip albums. Most artists spend entire careers chasing even one perfect song, let alone a record where every track feels essential. Across different eras, a few acts have managed this—Blink-182 in pop-punk, Michael Jackson in pop, and Black Sabbath in heavy metal—but there was something uniquely potent about the albums that emerged from the ’80s rock scene.
