Post-apocalyptic shows are a dime a dozen and most of them walk viewers through similarly bleak and depressing worlds destroyed by a world-ending event. The overarching world in one of Netflix's best post-apocalyptic shows is no less dark, but the series brilliantly subverts many tropes of the genre by leaving audiences with a sense of hope and optimism.
