Order 66 is one of the most tragic events in the Star Wars franchise, as it saw the deaths of countless Jedi across the galaxy. Indeed, there's a reason why it is also referred to as the Great Jedi Purge (primarily in Legends continuity). Before Order 66, there were roughly 10,000 active Jedi in the galaxy. Afterward, however, only about one percent of that number remained.
