Board Announcements is an official phpBB Extension that allows administrators to create a special board-wide announcement at the top of any page being viewed. It features:

Single announcement/notice displayed throughout entire forum (or index page only)
Fully customisable announcements with BBCode support and previews in ACP
Customisable announcement background colours
Users can dismiss an announcement once read
Set announcement to be visible to all visitors or members only
