The Last of Us Season 3 is Officially a Disaster in the Making (Here’s Why)

The Last of Us has become a contentious IP for several reasons. For instance, there’s been an obnoxious amount of disdain for the way that Abby killed Joel, even when it’s explicitly clear and sympathetic why she would’ve wanted to kill him. The HBO Last of Us show doesn’t censor or retcon Joel’s murder at the hands of Abby, but it does take big strides to ensure that audiences can understand her reasoning well before she clubs him to death. It’s these sorts of choices that water down The Last of Us Season 2 in comparison to The Last of Us Part 2.
